CLA=sunflowerseed oil?

It is kind of weird question....

I wanted to use Conjugated Linoiec Acid to burn fat and was searching the products on the net. I looked at the Prolab's CLA tablets and it contains nothing but a 1000 mg of Sunflower seed oil.

So, if I buy concetrated Sunflower seed oil from the market and drink 1 gram per day does it mean the same thing?

ilker,

Can you post a link to a study showing CLA reduces bodyfat? I could only find this article which says, "Change in fat-free mass, fat mass, and percentage body fat were unaffected by CLA supplementation ..."

I found a few other articles that said CLA was helpful in losing fat but that it only worked for people who were overweight.

I'm not saying it doesn't work ... I'm just saying I couldn't find any studies to support it. Besides, a little sunflower seed oil never hurt anyone.

No . . . I won;t hurt me any but if It isn;t going to do anything for me either or least no published studies indicating it works it's kind of useless to take then . .

I appreciate the info!

CLA is excellent in reducing fat, especially when combined with ALA and a slightly reduced carb intake.

Can someone please post a link to a study that supports this? I couldn't find anything through the 'search' and nothing came up on google. I'm not trying to be a smartass ... I'm actually very interested and would probably give this a shot if there were some proof that it worked.

Thanks!

What I'm takin right now has CLA, GLA, ALA, EPA and DHA.

CLA - Conjugated Linoleic Acid

GLA - Gamma Linoleic Acid

ALA - Alpha Linoleic Acid

EPA - Eicosapentaenoic Acid

DHA - Docosahexaenoic Acid

no. I can not give any proof or study. I just heard that it helps reduce bf. Anyways, it is easier to try and see than searching for it thousands hours on the net...

ilker,

Yeah, 1g (1000mg) daily is the correct dosage.
