Vegtetables, oats, brown rice, spelt, yams, barley, etc. For your information, you do not "need" carbs.

Perhaps not for survival, but if you're looking for the best way to protect your health and be as lean and mean as you can be, then carbs (particularly complex carbs) cannot be dismissed.

What do you mean - 'survive'? For how long? People can easily survive 30-40 days on just water, so we don't need protein or fat either to 'survive'.

complex carbs means the sugars are not monosaccharides, the foods abarlament listed fit this requirement

the sugar in fruit, however, is fructose which is a monosaccharide therefore it is not a complex carb, it is simple

and vegan, are you saying the body is using water as an energy source?? umm no, your body needs either fat or protein or carbs as energy, and those 30-40 days you are talking about are only possible because the body is using up fat stores and once those are low it goes to using your body's protein

"brown rice" - What about white rice? Would it be a good idea of having a daily intake of white rice while trying to lose fat?

I start to laugh now when I see someone ask a certain question and we get off on survival!
True enough, we don't "need" carbs, but cursor is right, for optimal health, we do need carbs.
And no, vegan did not say that the body would use water as an energy source. He simply said the body could "survive" on only water for around 30 or 40 days.
Brown is always better than white. Brown rice is healthier than white. But that does not mean you can not eat white rice. You can eat white rice and still attain your physical and dietary goals. Brown rice will get you there a little healthier, that's all.

Good job abarlament. You're the only one who answered the question posted directly!

Oh well, you guys can tell I'm in a mood. I better get off here and go to work. Ya'll have a great day!! And eat the heck out of some carbs today!!
