critique this protein shake

Hey, I can get this locally, at a reasonable price, much cheaper than whey protein

Sometimes I mix it with irish moss, ground up flax seeds, and/or yogurt, sometimes I will mix all in 3 servings and have them through the day or after a workout or whenever, or with cereal

Any input appreciated

Yeah I'm not sure on the eggs, kinda stay away from them, I might cheat once in a while if a cake has eggs in it, lol, I told myself when I reach a certain point ill start to eat eggs

Until then I'm vegan/vegetarian, no meat for me, not even fish

Well I have my hemp protein and I mix thatn 15g, ill buy some whey when I can, in ja its about 8500 that's about 100 us for the cheapest good ones, doubt its even isolate....

I see some 12lb one on sale, ill look into it

Jomo, are you vegan or vegetarian?

The latter gives you much more food options... the former is much more strict as far as I can tell?

Well I don't eat any meat at all, no fish or seafood, but will eat and drink dairy but not a lot....

So I guess I'm a vegan that eats dairy

In terms of tuna, the recommendation i heard was two cans a month only because of all the mercury. I knew a guy at my gym who ate 6 cans of tuna a day. he went to the doctor and sure enough he had signs of mercury poisoning. Poor tuna tony. Although extreme, eat one can a day you could definitely catch up to tuna tony.

Eggs will yield much faster results obviously, i strongly urge you make an exception. Eggs have the exact right amino acid profile for growth. Millions of years of development has perfected it. Whey can be tricky, you can only utilize about half of it because its from a cow (bloaty if too much). A heat process used in making it can cut it in half again. So basically you use 1/4 of the whey. They do make "cold filtration" whey...but they will throw it right in your face to make sure you know...its much more expensive.

Honestly, protein powder is not warranted if you are serious about your nutrition. Too many additives and inconsistency with products content.

Unfortunately Vrod, Jomo is a vegan so his choices are limited. I agree with you though, nothing beats real food. Jomo, since you include dairy in your diet, how about pounding the milk? I know you said you include dairy but not a lot... that said, your options are limited.

Ah yes. I would agree with increasing dairy as a protein source, or greek yogurt in shakes and or/ hemp seeds.

Here is a smoothie I made, 22 g of protein...Also packed with vitamins from the other ingredients. This is far healthier then that protein shake, however obviously less convenient.

i eat as much real food as I can, but taking protein powder thats broken down in a lab that skips your stomach and is absorbed in your small intestine in 6 min or less is cool with me. However most protein is not this. If its not the highest quality then dont bother.
