I wouldn't make them a staple...

That said, I eat them almost every night on my salads

Some of them have a lot of fat in them. So if you are eating them while not paying attention, you could be consuming a lot of calories without realizing what you are doing. If you want something crunchy, maybe some baby carrots or other veggies would be better.

Aren't they just dried out fried bread and salty herbs?

They were a fad snack with my boys when they were teens. I'd rather eat potato chips if I was going to eat that kind of thing, but to each their own.
Moderation is your solution.

I think I am going to try brigning my own baby carrots and then when I get bored or get the munchies I can go to those instead..I guess I still have a hard time changing habits until they have gone too far!

u are right brat...i don't think they carry any nutritional value at all....and although I will keep them for my salads I can eliminate snacking on them

You could make your own croutons too...
Some healthy bread of your choice either fresh or a little stale, slices them into cubes, put them into a bag, pour olive oil in, add whatever herbs you want, perhaps some salt and pepper, bake them in the oven. Delish.

I used to do the same exact thing. Whole grain bread diced up, drizzle olive oil, sprinkle italian herbs and garlic salt, and put in the toaster oven til brown. If you want them even lower cal, just give them a spritz with butter flavored cooking spray, just enough to get the other ingredients to stick.
