Does fat % matter?

I used to be very focused on the amount of cals I ate and the fat % trying to keep it at (15%). I'm trying to eat more healthy and nutrient based and it seems doing this the fat % goes up but my cals are still in check. Is this okay if the fats are from a variety of healthy fats such as olive oil, olives, and some protein bars ( not from advocados)

Some say eating as high as 35% of cals in fat works fine for them. Try it and see if you make progress (in the right direction).

It should not matter total calories is more important, the fats in protein bars are typically bad

I been eating 40%+ fat in my diet for the last maybe 2 months now, blood work improved, i have lost 15lbs or so in that time. Like Maxgain said, it is the overall calories that matter the most. I didn't believe this for awhile, but im starting to come around now.

I lift heavy all the time so i need energy. If you eat low carb/low fat, that does not leave much for energy sources for your body.

The secret is managing your carb intake. At least, from my experience, that's what it seems to be.

I don't get overly concerned with my fat intake, as long as I stay within my calorie-goals and I get it from good sources. So mainly from nuts, olive oil, etc....

Polyunsaturated vegetable oils are the WORST.

Coconut Oil is the best out of the oils.

Animal fats are very healthy.

i agree. for example i eat salmon 3-4 times per week and it is pretty high in fat, but good fats, so i don't worry about it.
