Eating After 7:00pm

Tonight at dinner while enjoying one of my mothers great homecooked meals she decided to ruin by mentioning Oprah. Nothing wrong with O, just that the women who watch her show seem to take everything she says verbatem. Oprah said that she dosent eat after 7 because its bad for you, now my mom believes it as does my dad.

So what the F is up with this? I thinks its nonsense, by this time of night I am already on my 5th or 6th meal of the day. What does everyone else think?

I think its 10:15 PM and I finally had my last meal. I don't like to brag, but I consider myself a bit more phyically fit and knowledgable than Oprah

Depends what you want to eat and how active you happen to be at that time.

I try and keep the carbs low but I eat right before I go to bed (chicken with some veggies, cottage cheese, eggs etc)

my former trainer woke up at 2am to cook himself a full dinner meal, complete with meat and veg.

in his first competition, he took "most ripped".

that whole "no eating after [blah]" is crap - it was just a way to force self-discipline on people who starve themselves throughout the day and then binge out on half the fridge and a pint of haagen-dasz at 11pm.

here, give them this link: http://msn.runnersworld.com/article/...2X23-3,00.html. it mentions the eating after 7 myth, but the whole article is full of excellent advice on avoiding excess calories and burning more.

In Spain they often have their dinner at midnight or later and they don't have the weight problems Americans do.

I agree, but Spanish dinners aren't nearly as heavy as American dinners. Their biggest meal is lunch- many shops actually close, so people can go home to have lunch with their family, and then re-open later in the day.

But this does show that eating very late doesn't have a direct effect on success. What you eat throughout the course of the day as a whole is what matters.
