Eating, eating, eating and feeling puke!

Hey all...

So the title sums it up, I'm currently getting about 2050kcal per day with a near 40/40/20 split. Feels like all I'm doing is eating...

Anyway, I cant help it but about 15mins after every meal I start to feel really sick, this passes in about an hour.

I'm interested in what going on. Its clear that over the last 3yrs I have not been eating what I should (probably under BMR) and the variability in what I'm eating has been crazy.... My assumption is that my body is having problems in this early stage with the volume of food I'm eating and that it will pass in a few weeks

Any other suggestions would be well appreciated!

Yep, it's most likely an issue with the volume of food. If you go from eating 1500 cals to 3500 cals overnight, you will feel bloated and sick for a bit until your body gets used to it. It will usually pass after a couple of weeks.

I would recommend for most people that you increase the calories gradually over a period of a couple of weeks as this gives your body some time to adjust.

Groovy... I think I've been getting by on about 1500 and have changed it to 2015 and raising the intake by 100 cals per week until I hit my target intake

Fingers crossed it passes soon, hate feeling sick

I hate to say it but going from eating "freely", anything you want to making more nutritionally sound food choices to support your lifestyle (ugh, as some would say "clean"), you could get those pukie feelings too!

ITA with taking transitions in small steps especially when it involves increasing or decreasing % of dietary fats in your diet. As an experiment try taking a tablespoon of flaxseed oil or olive oil on an empty stomach when you are not conditioned to it. (have a garbage pail close by).

Good. If you have it happen again when it's time for the next increase here's what I did to learn to eat enough. I had to go from pretty low to 3K then 4K then 5K this past summer. I started eating a small amount every hour on the hour whether I wanted it or not. Pretty soon I was able to eat a bit more every two hours. After a while I could eat a bit more every two to three hours. In time, I was getting all my needed calories again.

I've had no appetite for the last few months (unrelated to diet changes) but if I catch myself not eating, I'll just repeat this for a couple of days to get back in the habit of eating.

When I go from 4100 to 5000+ next month, I'm going to do the hourly thing again as I gradually increase my calories.
