emergency food

I'd like to back some emergency food for the following situations, any idea.

Pre/during workout. Sometimes my planned preworkout snack (apple, banana and 1/2 chicken breast) is not enough. This has to be durable b/c it will be stored in a gym bag in my car during the day possibly for weeks before use.

Post bar (I don't drink that much) over night at a "friends". I'd like to keep some food in my car with a toothbrush etc. Should be high protien, moderate in low GI carbs and moderate in good fats, and MUST have a long shelf life. This is to replace either tuna and 1/2 banana (what I eat if I come home alone) or an ommlette (when only offered cereal or nothing in the morning).

Why not buy some protein/carb (meal replacement) bars, or even buy packets of protein powder, and keep a shaker bottle with ya, so you can just add water or milk and then shake & drink. Other than that, you could pre-cook some potatos and keep some sort of other solid food protein source with you to eat as well.

Beef jerky, peanuts, and oats. All have long shelf lives and cover decent quality protein, fat, and carbs respectively.
