Energy/Protein Bars.

Sorry if this is a topic already, but I need a recommendation for energy/protein bars. My girlfriend says I should get Slim Fast but I'd like to know if their are other brands that are better and more focused on muscle strength. It'd be much appreciated.

I only buy the Premier brand protein bars. They are cheap at Costco (local?). They have 30g protein, 4 or 5g of carbs and minimal fat. They are ONLY a get me by though. I would never substitute one for a meal. Food first, supps. second.

It's my understanding that Protein bars are not the way to go due to the sugars and preservatives.

There are some nice recipes in the recipes section for making your own, which are generally going to be better for you than anything you can buy in a store.

Slim Fast is NOT an option either - it is sugar water. You are much better off with a couple of hard boiled eggs and carrot sticks (these are still portable).
