Extra Super Sized Meals

I can't believe people can actually eat that many calories in one meal. OMG a burger with 141 grams of fat

great article lady c! i am totaly for resturants putting nutritional information on the menu, or atleast having it available at the table ( maybe on a one sheeter for those who don't want to know) so people can make an informed decision.

i can't believe a piece of chocolate cake at the cheesecake factory is 1300cals! if you put in chocolate cake into fitday you get around 240-350 cals with about 10g of fat....that's quite a difference from 1300 cals!

Those meals are ridiculous... 100+ grams of fat is more than an entire stick of butter!!! I'm with gymgirl in supporting an available nutritional information sheet separate from the menu.

oh i had some fun one day going through calorieking.com and looking at the calories in various restaurant entrees. I was shocked at how some of the individual pizzas at pizzeria uno had almost 2000calories, as BF has eaten those before. Since I always get a steak and a baked potato there isnt much of a shocker for me : however those desserts! wow. I now am wary of ordering dessert in a restaurant because they give you such a giant peice of cake and i have trouble putting the spoon down.....

i agree nutritional info should be available on request

x 9 = 1269 calories. Add fries and a shake....

People really don't know how many calories they are eating and what a serving size is. I get my friends on this all the time when I ask how many calories they are consuming when they drink a bottle of Gatorade. They always get it wrong because of serving sizes.

I thought nutrition information had to be made available on request, at least in the US.

I do agree with making it more accessible. It should be at the table, so you don't have to ask for it. But I also think that the vast, vast majority of people just don't care. But for those of us who do care, it would be nice.

I think restaurants are afraid of losing business. Like the article said, Ruby Tuesday tried putting the info on the menu, and they lost business. People chose to go elsewhere, where they didn't have to be confronted by just how unhealthy their food choices were.
