^^ Yes, what Welch said.

I doubt that 3 days will make much in the way of permanent change to your weight. Probably adjusting your calorie intake and lifestyle will have a bigger impact. But hey if you want to eat fruits for a change of pace, kind of like a night of drinking substituting the fruit for the booze then that can't be all that bad.

Detoxing has become such a faddish thing to do now. I used to get into trying all kinds of routines myself until I realized that I didn't have any "buildups" or troubles in the first place. The body does a pretty good job of "cleansing" itself on a regular basis if you maintain a decent diet (moderate excesses) and regular exercise.

When fresh fruits and veggies are in season I eat a high proportion of them too. There are definately worse things you could be doing to your body. I just wouldn't go to far in believing that it is more than what it is.

Such concern about "detoxing" yet no concern about letting toxins (alcohol for example) enter the system in the first place...

Just in case you didn't know.
Carbs, protien = 4 calories/gram
Alcohol = 7 calories/gram
Fats = 9 calories/gram

Most drinks are 150-200 calories. If you only had three drinks. That is roughly 500 calories without food. Think about how that might add up to excess bodyfat.

In truth it wont be a big deal if its only done once a year or so and if you are pretty bad it may give your body a chance to recover a bit toxins can be a problem.
However after that you need to follow a proper diet and lifestyle as advocated on the boards or it will be useful.

True... I guess it really depends on your goals. Running 6 miles is NOT conducive to someone who's complete focus is building muscle. I just remember for some time I would be "afraid" to do cardio, fearing it would make me lose muscle... lol! How silly it sounds now- but with the shape I'm in, and my goals, that was the last thing I needed to be worrying about!

I do believe, though, that too much cardio combined with insufficient nutrition is bad in general, and leads to muscle loss.

Sorry for the random off-topic tangent!
