Give your opinion about Healthy Lifestyle?

Hi friends
Want to ask one question that,
Do You Eat To Live or Live To Eat?

Well, I don't like eating thing much!
So, I can say that I eat just to live my life otherwise I must not have
eaten anything. I always avoid fast food.

Is that a real valid question ? its catch 22 surely.
If you dont eat you die, so you eat to live, and you live to eat.
If you dont like eating, can i ask are you anorexic ?
I love eating tasty wholesome foods that fuels my body to train hard and repair.

Bodyshop, that's actually a valid question.

There are some cultures who "eat to live." In other words, here in the states, going out to eat is always a nice thing, especially when it's a romantic dinner. We like to go out to eat, be waited on, visit with friends while we eat; so eating is usually a sociable event, if that makes sense. But there are cultures that eat only for subsistence, just enough to live.

It seems, here, that many people are addicted to food. Obesity is a very real and big problem. While I lived in South Korea, I saw only one fat Korean. I come back to the states and everyone is fat! Ok, maybe not everyone, but you know what I mean.

So it really is a cultural thing. There are many people here who live to eat. Food has total control of them. While there are others who simply eat to live.

A healthy lifestyle for me involves my exercise time. Weights and cardio. With some thought given to nutrition but not obsessively so. Even non-traditional thought to push nutrition in a particular direction.

For example, for my current goals I'm eating 2 whole eggs with sausage and hash browns, two half pound burgers with buns and cheese with fries (baked then dry griddled), and three milk, whey, banana shakes a day....to get my calories I need for my training.

Doesn't seem healthy, but it's easy and it meets my needs and is actually balanced as far as P, F, C goes (balanced by zone standards).

My response to the question is neither. I don't fit into either answer.

I eat because I am hungry...if not the stomach pain and mood change will drive me to it. It's a primal thing that eventually no amount of "thinking" can hold back.

Of course being a civilized human being I eat regular meals like most people do. I don't have food or weight issues so generally I follow my appetite. sometimes I eat fast food or junk food just because I like the taste or satiety of it.

Healthy Lifestyle is different for everyone depending how you define it.

I'd say the post is actually rather thought provoking. Some people look forward to meal time it seems as if it's the highlight of the day. Others "eat to live" in other words, eating specifically to meet dietary goals for certain performance goals. For still others, "eating to live" means dedication to eating purely for health. Our own vegan here at DF I think fits into that category. Denying themselves what most of us would consider "the good stuff" because they feel it isn't healthy for them.

Personally, I think I fit into the "eat to live" category in more than one way. I avoid certain foods because I don't think they are healthy for me and because they don't fit in with my performance goals. Another way is because I eat specifically to support what I'm trying to accomplish at the time.

Eating to live really isn't a sign of an eating disorder in my opinion. Although back in 2006 my doc did say I had BBED (bodybuilders eating disorder) because I measured and weighed all my food and planned every bite I'd take for days or weeks in advance. But I was doing this to reach a goal, even though I'm not now, nor will I ever be someone I'd consider a "bodybuilder".

its sad to say, but out of 1000 people at my work id say half of them dont drink water ever. a group of 15 or so people i sit and b.s. with at breaks goes as far to say " I cant stand drinking water" like its a chore... and They always pop Mtn Dew out the vending machines. in fact the vending machines have bottles not cans so and everything is displayed for you to see in the vending machine, I swear to god almost the whole machine is mountain dew, with about 40 rows, and 10 bottles to each row.... I never drink pop, so say i eat to live or live to eat. but i say it live to eat, because i enjoy the simple taste of water and good wholesome foods.

even if i did get a pop it wouldnt be a f!!!ing mountain dew.... thats gotta be the crappiest pop in the world, it taste of nothing but sugar...

We'll it really depends on each and every person on how do they perceive the question but for me, I eat a nutritionally balanced diet and I agree with bodyshop here. "If you don't eat you die and you live to eat" So it means it's up to you if you are what you eat.

Well food is must for living to everyone rather it is human or wilds. I like fast food but I always take it as per my requirement because I am so health concious. We should take care of our self and so take a food as per the body requirement. We should take a nutritious food for our good health to live long.
