You're doing the cleanse?

I've heard of it before, and had a couple people recommend it, but not sure yet if it's something I wanted to do. I really should do a cleanse cause just before I got pg I was going to start one. Not sure if I have to wait til' I'm not bfing any more though!

Personally, if your diet is high in fiber, you don't need to cleanse anything. It will do it for you.

The best way to remove 'toxins' from your body is not injest them. Or use a dry sauna now and then.

My BF did something similar a couple years ago,and he liked it. Said he felt better in the end, and alot of people I use to work with did them every 6 months.

A cleanse is not recommended for those that want keep that hard earned muscles. It is very catabolic to starve your system of nutrients it needs or flush it out non-naturally.

What if the cleanse uses natural products? Like herbs, and roots lol. The one guy who swore by it competed in bodybuilding competitions. I never did the ones they did because the couldn't eat anything while on it - to me thats fasting. There are others though where you're only suppose to eat say vegetables or something - that's the one my BF did. He could eat fairly normal, but had to drink this mixture at breakfast and dinner, and take some tablets too. They were all "natural" as in different root, and herbs etc.

Belladonna, arsenic, poison ivy, and lead are also "natural"....

Just because something is "natural" doesn't make it safe or effective. I think many people get sucked into an assumption of safety under the guise, however well-intentioned (if I'm to be generous), of being "all natural."

I personally think the best way to "cleanse" the body is to eat in a healthful way, and your body will self-regulate itself.

I also know people who claim benefits from colonic irrigation, gall bladder flushes, colon cleansing fastings involving various beverages, and most of them report feeling better. I think they feel better because they've done something "pro-active" in their minds towards bettering their health, something they believe is helping. If they happen to drop some weight, there's bound to be psychological "highs" from that as well.

But I'll still revert to siding with Lady C,....if you eat balanced, make sure your diet includes healthy fiber, over time your body will regulate itself, and a balance will be created without having to go on any special "program."
