Havin a hard time

For the last couple weeks I've been havin a hard time controlin what I eat. Especailly on the weekends. It's not really a problem during the week cause I have a routine for when and what I eat, but come weekend time I just kinda loose it. I feel that it is hurtin what little progress I make. I try a keep busy so I don't think about it, but that doesn't always work either. I almost dred weekends just because I'm out of my routine. I know people say that it is ok to give yourself a cheat day or meal, but I just dont know. It's not like my dinners are bad or anything like that. Its just a large grilled chicken salad with cottage cheese tomato egg and cucumber. They are just a little larger then what I eat durin the week. Lunch and breakfast are just fruit but its in between that I tend to eat more fruit or veggies then what I think I should. Maybe I'm just makin a bigger deal out of nothin. Any suggestions as to what to do?

William

You're making a big deal out of nothing. If you're really that worried, then slightly reduce the portions, or go for a jog.

Two stategies.

One only buy healthy food, that way you can't go too wrong.

Two "quantize" your meals i.e. only cook a specific amount so you can decide how much to eat before you start.

I totally understand what you mean about your routine being far more precise during the week thenon the weekends. I go through a similar challenge. During the week I pack up exactly the amount of food I will be eating at work. When I have finished all the food... that's it I am done. When I get home for dinner and or weekends it is another story because the fridge is full of food. The only answer I can offer you is that it is 100% will-power. You have a good routine during the week so there is no reason why you can not have one on the weekends.

wbens, we've been that road already. Get some professional help if you need it. Eat healthy all the time. Don't cheat. If you don't eat enough healthy food that is bad. If you eat too much, no problem. Just be sure to work out. If I remember correctly, you are a bit underweight anyway.

wait wait, you're worried about a bigger salad and too many fruits and veggies? Maybe if you were talking about like McDonalds, then yeah, but fruit and veggies?!?! come on now.

it's not that - you just worry about the wrong things.

If you're over eating on the veggie side, you don't have anything to worry about. If you were snacking on french fries in between meals or something, that would be another matter.

Just keep a tab on where your daily calories are at so you know how much you've over (or under) eaten.

And watch that salad dressing,my boss was complaining about not losing weight even though he was eating nothing but salads. So we go out to eat and when we sit down I look at his salad and I cant see it for the pepperoni, dressing ,cheese, and bacon bits.
