What exactly is sweat tea?

Regular old tea is fine. The only considerations are the caffeine (I'm a huge fan) and whatever you dump into it (tons of sugar, for instance, probably isn't the way to go).

Instant iced teas are usually loaded with tons of sugars or artificial sugar substitutes so I tend to avoid them.

Assuming that's per a twelve ounce serving (and that's probably pretty close) then that's better than coke but not by much. You're basically just cutting one sugary drink for another.

And just to be clear, I'm not saying sugar is evil or you can never have it.

It's just not going to get you where you want to be.
