High cholesterol, creatine and ephedra

Well I did more blood work and the doctor called last night concerned about my high cholesterol. I knew it was high because my wife has been feeding me 2 egg yolks in my morning burrito for years. Now at least she got the message egg yolk = cholesterol bomb.

But then she dropped the dime on me and told the doctor I like creatine and ephedra. Bummer because he wants to see me and chew me out. I dont know of any negative info on creatine and its been years since I focused on taking it regularily for more than a couple days. AJ says to just ignore it so I will keep an open mind when I see the doc.

Ephedra I hardly use, they recommend 6 capsules per day and all I do is take 1 single capsule if I have a lot to do like workout and build the deck.
I am curious to see what scientific info there is on ephedra since I have taken it in sports drinks for at least 6 years.

Does anybody have non-media circus links on real medical research on ephedra or creatine being bad?

At least with better hyrdration my BUN dropped from 27 to 21 in just a matter of 3 weeks.

lol lol, creatine will not cause high cholesterol, ephedra can dramatically increase your blood pressure at any dosage, which can lead to many harmful things.

The cholesterol and creatine are unrelated. She felt bad about the yolks she stopped pulling and defensively tried to shift the attention to something else - creatine and ephedra.

Now she is emailing me all these web links where people claim creatine causes kidney stones.....

I disagree here, ECA causes weight loss and the reduction in weight lowers your blood pressure! That means that people who take ECA and lose weight are far less likely to have a heart attack or stroke.

Well, believe this if you want but that's a conclusion that the evidence just doesn't support.

"International Journal of Obesity and Related Metabolic Disorders."

"During the last two years defined doses daily more than 9.6 million of the EC combination have been used in Denmark, but only 86 adverse drug reactions have been reported to the health authorities, of which none were cases of gastrointestinal bleeding or other kinds of haemorrhagic episodes . . . Both diastolic and systolic BP declined during treatment with both drugs"
