Homemade protein shake....

In my homeade protein shake i add skim milk, half a carton of egg whites, 2 scoops of optimum whey, and 2 yogurts. do u think that this is overdoin it, on some days i use this as my first meal. whats your input? i dont do it after i workout if thats what ur thinking i know the cassien in milk will slow the digestion down way to much.

Whats the stats on that shake? At a glance, it seems like you may be overdoing it with protein. Your body can only make use of so much in one sitting.

It is pasteurized - it is fine!

It looks too big to me - lots of protein and carbs (one yogurt can be as high as 30 carbs each depending on brand).

Isn't casein a no-no in a pwo shake? I'm not sure where egg protein falls either though.

casein should not be used, its just too slow digesting

egg however is extremely fast. if you dont use whey id recommend egg white

this protein shake is kind of a in between meals thing, i get hungry every hour even tho i eat a decent ammount of food every 2 and a half hous, so when i make that shake it makes around 2-1/2 protein drinks.

Very true. I always put yogurt in my bedtime shake, but I use Dannon Carb Control yogurt. It tastes really good, adds some real substance to the shake, and has only 3g carbs, only 2g of sugar. I highly suggest it.
