pierini, sometimes you just don't need a "valid reason" to be eating that stuff. Sometimes it's just for the pure enjoyment of it.

Well I don't know about anyone else but I spent three solid days in bed fighting off Flu. And it's no picnic to your gains diet. Everything you try and bulk up soon gets burnt down. I personally feel you shouldn't force yourself when you have a virus. I still feel crappy even now. I won't be back at the gym until the New Year damn it!

Oh man that sucks on all levels. I hope you recoup soon and find yourself angrier and stronger on your next visit to the gym!

When you are ill, is it still important to keep up with the calorie/protein intake or just concentrate on getting well?

Fluid intake is most important so you don't get dehydrated. I reach for the Gatorade, water and or juice when a cold or flu hits me or those I take care of. Depending on your other symptoms with it, eat accordingly. now is not the time to be stressing over diet details. A quick recovery will do more for you in the long run.

I did eat a lot on christmas day.. but i could have done worse even lol

breakfast: five peices of Irish bacon (its lean and can cut the fat off not like american bacon), one slice soda bread, an apple, coffee

lunch: half a protein bar

pre-dinner: a lot of nuts (cashew, walnut, pecans), doritos, regular potato chips

dinner: small peice roast beef (2oz), large peice turkey (4oz), peas, baked potato, gravy

dessert: low fat vanilla ice cream. The other desserts were tiramasu and ginger cake neither of which i like.

drinks: 2 light beers

tv time: six chocolates, i think they have about 40 cals each

i didnt put the calories into fitday, but the big killer was those pre dinner snacks where i wouldnt be surprised if i ate more than i had for my entire dinner and dessert!

exercise was a 4.5 mile run after breakfast, and a few situps pushups and bw squats too.

im on vacation for two whole weeks and basically eating what i like.. so new years will probably be pretty bad for me too! I havent been drinking a ton really, but i suspect on new years Ill end up drinking a lot.

overall i could be doing a lot worse, and would be too if I werent so concious of it these days! im glad i have some self control when it comes to food.. even if it does get the better of me on occasion we are only human after all...

Well it was perfect, I am very proud of myself this year. I have a binging problem, which seems to be under control lately. With that being said, holidays are the worst for someone with a binging problem. This holiday was perfect, because Sunday is my cheat meal day and that's when my family celebrates (xmas eve). I had 2 "sort-of" big meals, desert, some meatballs later at night. Nothing compared to the other holidays. I have lost 5 pounds since last monday, today is friday so it wasn't that bad, and I am also seeing some major progress. All in all, did great this holiday, on xmas day I Just returned to my normal diet and routine.
