how do you all find the time for your diets?
I look at all the posted diets on this site and I see how a lot of people have their diets perfectly planned out to the very minute they eat them. and on top of that it will be like 6 meals a day for the whole week planned down to the minute...
how do you guys do it? i mean what if your at work or school or if you have something to do? i find it EXTREMELY difficult to find times to eat 6 meals a day , let alone eat them at specifc plannned times everyday and still find time to work out. I just dont understand how you guys could manage your time like that.
im going to start bulking up and im going to have to resort to a home-made weight gainer shake that i take in the morning before school and then another one later in the day cuz i simply cant afford or find the time to eat perfectly. ive tried and its hard.

I work 50+ hours a week, go to the gym 6 days a week, sleep 9 hours a night and still find time to do it. You have to MAKE time. There is no way around it =)
I personally plan my meals out during the week for the next week. I will do next monday's meals on monday, next tuesday's meals on Tue and so on. Then on sunday I make everything for the entire week, which takes me about 2 hours. It took me a bit to get into a groove that works for me but now I am good to go.

believe me i TRY my hardest to make time but i dont decide when my classes are scheduled. im a full time student and unfortunately my schedule is the way it is cuz it has to be.
also -another problem lets say friends of yours want to go out to dinner that night. how do you factor that into your diet? or your friends/family wanna go do something for most of the day and have invited you or something that takes 4 hours and crosses one of the times you plan your meal.
i mean it seems like you have to eliminate a lot of social activities to be dedicated to your diet.

Cook the meat and save it in foil. Cook the spaghetti sauce for my pasta (its also loaded w/ meat) and store this in the fridge w/ a sealed lid. That leaves me about 1-5 minutes to heat up any vegetables that I'd want to eat and about 10 minutes to boil my pasta. Oats only take 1 and a half minutes, etc...so as long as I have like 40 minutes of free-time I can get a lot of meat cooked at once and be set for close to a week. The meat just takes like 35 seconds in the microwave to get hot after being refrigerated.
Just make smart choices when you go out, usually there's something you can order. You can also pre-make certain portable snacks if you really want to be prepared for a meal.
Are you in High School? If college then the schedule shouldn't be a problem unless you also work full-time...High School you can just pack 2-3 meals and hopefully have cool enough teachers that will let you eat in class.

I know the feeling. I work an unorthodox work schedual (Sometimes 12 hours, sometimes 8 sometimes 10 etc) and I plan my meals around that. It takes effort but can be done.

Then I go out for dinner. Just because i made the meals doesnt mean I hAVE to eat them. If I know we are going out for dinner, I will a little bit smaller meals to compensate. I dont over-indulge at dinner, and I still eat healthy.

I wouldnt say that you have to sacrifice a lot of social activities but you do have to make SOME sacrifices if you want to keep things in check. Dont be afraid to go out and have some fun, take a Protein bar or Beef Jerky or something with you. Thats what they are for =)

If you're at work and you get a regulation 1 hour lunch break, talk to your boss about splitting it into 2 half hour breaks.

You just have to plan ahead with your meals and your daily activities. If you want something bad enough, you will do whatever it takes to get it done right. If that means making your meals the night before for the following day, and taking a shopping bag full of food with you to school, work, or wherever you will be, then that is what must be done...in order to be successful. And if it's important to you, you will find a way, no matter what situation you may find yourself in.
Believe me, I have done some pretty crazy things (by other people's terms) in order to make sure I had my required foods with me. You gotta do what ya gotta do, to survive!

I'm in high school, and what I do is eat my meals in between passing periods (the 5-6 minute period in between classes). So meal 1 is for breakfast, 2 is between 2nd and 3rd period, 3 is for lunch, 4 is when I come back from school, 5 is for dinner, 6 is at about 8:00. Not that hard when you think about it.

Yup. Make your food when you have time (night before/week before... whatever), eat it when you've planned to eat it.
Bodybuilding is so simple, but no one said it was easy!!!

Yeah - my wife makes fun of me because the night before a workday I'm in the kitchen for 25 minutes getting my food in order: hardboiling eggs, packing chicken breasts, sorting veggies into ziploc bags, etc.
She asks me if I "remembered to pack my 15 meals."
Funny woman.

I too am in high shool. I do exactly what CrazyRussi, nailed it on the head. I've been having a slice of whole wheat bread with peanut butter. It only takes about 3 minutes to get that down. As other people said, you just got to make time. If I'm in a situation that I normally wouldn't get myself in, (like going to Dairy Queen) just make the best of it. That's all you can do if you get stuck in a place that you didn't plan for. Just don't say, "Well, I might as well order a triple cheeseburger with fries since we're at this place." Chose the best choice on the menu. The other thing I do is try to suggest a place that is relatively healthy. Like Subway/Quiznos instead of ordering pizza for example.

I also pack my meals the night before since I am at work allllllll day. I like to cook up 2-3 days worth of chicken breasts at one time so all I gotta do each day is the quick stuff.
Klinger you need to have a talk with my boy..I pack him healthy meals for the week and after I drop him off Sunday night I look in my fridge and he's snuck um outta the cooler and left um behind.
As for going out..same as the others have said..just pick the healthiest you can and try to eat less.

The beef jerky i eat is 99% fat free (.5g per serving). It is higher in sodium, but since I keep a close eye on my sodium intake, one serving doesn't kill me =)
