How many almonds is a serving?
I usually eat about 15 or so and I was assuming that is about 170 cals. Does anyone know if this is right?

I used to know the answer to your question. I believe about 17 almonds is a serving.
When I was in to counting my calories, someone gave me an inexpensive, battery-operated food scale for measuring ounces and grams. It was really helpful in knowing the size of my servings.

I have one that I use for making bread. My DH got it on amazon. I believe it was around $30.

A serving is going to be a different amount depending on what source you use. If I were you I would look at the package nutritional facts and work with the information there. Sometimes their serving sizes are unrealistic for the way you eat but you can always count the number of individual almonds in a serving and calculate the amount in an nut from there.
Like BS mentioned, I use fitday. They let you choose the serving size by weight volume or average nut.

Most almonds sold here in the United States break down like this. These are raw almonds no salt nothing but natural almonds. 1 oz is a serving. I have a scale that runs on a 9v battery I use to weigh them out. I paid about 30.00 for the scale at Linens and Things.

It could, I suppose, but when I wrote it, I was thinking Dear Husband.

Try not to think in "either or" terms but in "variety". I wouldn't make a habit of Honey roasted nuts, but if you are still meeting your goals and you can fit them into your diet then why not?
