I never get full either. I'm not sure if it's physiological or psychological. But unless I use fitday to monitor my calories, I eat and eat and gain fat.

Some people call themselves hard-gainers. Well, I'm an easy-gainer. When I realize I'm overeating, and I can't will myself to stop, I just make sure I lift and/or do cardio every day to maximize the muscle growth during that binge. That way, when I eventually come to my senses and start monitoring my intake again, I will find some new muscle under the flab. Right now, I'm working on fitting back in my 29 inch pants again.

I believe we are oftentimes full it is just that our brain doesn't know it.

For some of us, the chemical response from our gut to our head signaling that we are full works slower. Eating slow and chewing our food completely rather than inhaling it down helps. It's just than gulping and inhaling it down feeds the addict pleasure system in our brain better.

Mr P, I read somewhere that it takes the brain 20 mins to know that the stomach is full. So if you eat your portion and feel hungry, you should wait 20 mins and then eat more if you're still hungry. Can't remember where I read it and no idea if it's true. But something to think about.

Try adjusting your protein, fat and carbohydrate ratios (by calorie). I find that the zone recommendation of 40c/30p/30f at meal times really does curb the appetite (for me it suppresses it so much I don't eat enough) and leave you satiated for a long time.

That may not be your ideal ratio but it works for many who exercise regularly and are at an ideal weight.

This could easily be the problem pineapple is having. If you're not getting enough fat and/or protein, you won't feel full.:

It's amazing how our brains are wired, and also how visual components play a part. It sounds trite but it's true: Use smaller utensiles, smaller plates, larger glasses of water. Put your fork down between bites. Chew your food thoroughly and don't swallow whole bits of food, really savor it. The only time you taste the food is when it's in your mouth,...once it's in your stomach, your mind is craving the re-creation of that taste, ergo: we shovel more food in.

And yep, on average 20 minutes for the brain to get the signal your stomach is full.

You'll notice we can't emphasize enough the importance of the right ratio of quality fat. It satiates, it helps to carry the flavor of foods, keeps you fuller longer.

In our attempts to lose weight, a big mistake is trying to drastically cut our fat intake. Don't go there or you'll always be hungry. I won't delve into why the no fat or low fat foods are bad because someone else on the board can jump on that bandwaggon (I've done it enough)....but give it a shot.
