Cooking in foil?!

I've been cooking my (chicken) breasts in the george foreman grill by wrapping it in foil and then putting placing it inside the grill...this way I don't have to clean up the grill.

Is this a good idea or could the foil be harmful in some kind of way?

That just sounds like a great idea. I sometimes cook my chicken in foil in the oven. It keeps all the juices and spices from drying up and the chicken is much jucier. Great idea.

You wrap it around completely????? does it take as long to cook???? that sounds like a good idea.

No!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NO PEOPLE!!!

LISTEN TO ME!!!

I wanted to know if cooking chicken in aluminum foil was healthy or not AND YOU PEOPLE RESPONDED BY SAYING "Wow great idea."

Well, guess what?! I just came back home from chemistry class and asked my teacher about it and she said that it causes ALHEZIMERS!!!!(sp?!)

So what to do now? What is the george foreman grill made out of?

Teflon???

Anyone see the special on teflon and how harmful that is?!

Apparently if you have a pet bird in your house and you cook on teflon it will kill your bird!!!

So how am I supposed to prepare my chicken now?!

there are trace elements of all kinds in your body aluminum included, i think much if any of it rubs on into your food, and if it did i think the effect would be negligible

The report on teflon really downplayed that it's only a risk if you cook at 500+ degrees. That's nigh impossible with the Foreman grill, me thinks.

When overheated Teflon can give off a poisonous gas that birds are VERY sensitive to and doesn't do people anny good either, but the gas is only produced at temps far above normal cooking procedures.

The aluminum / Alzheimers link has been discredited for some time now. Excessive aluminum in your diet, like most anything, is not good but cooking in foil is not a significant source.

teflon is dangerous. but the only way its dangerous is if you indgest chips of it. if u scrath the hell out your GF grill and it makes it begin to chip then yes dont use cuz it'll f up real bad but other than that you're fine

Teflon chips won't hurt you- it's the fumes given off by the material when it's heated beyond the point of chemical stability. Teflon is/was used in ball/socket joint replacements (hip replacements) along with titanium and other chemically inert materials.

Teflon chips would go in the mouth and out into the toilet.
