Hi all...my hockey season is starting tonight, and we generally play our games at night, anywhere from 8pm games to 11pm games. On a normal day, I am usually in bed around 10-10:30 and plan my meals accordingly for the day. I assume I can treat my games like a big cardio session, but how would I go about structuring my meals around the games? Take the worst case example, the 11pm games. The game is about an hour, so I would be done and back home by say 12:30. Obviously I would want to have something to eat, and normally after cardio I would have a protein and
carb drink to start, but is it a good idea to have those carbs at 12:30 at night right before bed?
Is it still important to get them in, or does the time mean I should just maybe have my normal pre-bed meal of cottage cheese, etc??
