Morning protein question

Hi, my breakfast is usually standard, weather I'm training in the am or pm, it's always 1/2 cup of oats with a protein, either scoop of whey mixed with the oatmeal or egg whites on the side. Or I make a concoction of 2tbs flax meal, 2 tbs oat bran, 1tbs natty, scoop of whey all microwaved w/ water. But, my question is, do I have to have the protein at breakfast? Can I just eat the oatmeal alone? Sometimes I don't have time to make egg whites in the morning.

Thanx!

You want to consume a well balanced meal. If egg whites are boring or cannot be done, perhaps had some milk into the oats instead of water. There are a bunch of other protein sources you could choose from as well.

I'd highly suggest it, since you spent the last 8 hours fasting while you slept. I have 2 scoops of whey and a bowl of cereal every morning. Not much prep time for that.
