new experiment

since the beginning of Jan. I have been raising and lowering my calories and balancing everyday meals trying to get the perfect balance. I would create new diets and follow that meal plan for maybe 3 weeks and I would eat the same thing everyday. I have seen some muscle growth and I am starting to see lines where I have not seen them before. BUT I am starting to get burned out and I need to tweek these diets to the smallest detail. So i have decided to continue my intense workouts but I will not count calories or balance the macronutrients for about a month or two. During this time I will eat very healthy watching my fat intake and making sure I get plenty protein but I will eat differnt things and have some serious variety that I am not used to. I will continue the 6 meals a day. I will be watching my measurements and the scale periodotically to see whats going there as in gaining weight/ loosing weight/gaining muscle/loosing muscle. During this time I will also work on creating the perfect diet/macronutrient balance. I will create a diet of my favorite foods but I will tweek it to where as much as possible my fat intake will be all unfats! I will try to void saturated fat totally and also stock my meals as much with dietary fiber as possible to curve cheats by getting fuller for longer. I will experiment with these diets on 2 week ( NO CHEAT) intervals. I will do a full 14 days so that will include weekends which will be very difficult considering my schedule. Well I am going to start this Monday and I will keep everyone informed of whats going on. I will be asking a lot of questions also so expect to hear from me.
thanks
Amk

sounds like a bad way to go about this. You say your going to change up the foods. How are you going to what know calorie count adds or loses fat/muscle ?

Well I won't be worried about the calories right now. I will keep track to make sure im not loosing muscle or if maybe I gain any.
I will start creating diets for my experiments and then keep track of whats going on during those diets. I will keep a serious diary when on the diets. I will up and down my calories depending on changes. I am burned out on counting right now because I have done it religiously for almost 5 months. I will take 1 to 2 months off counting and balancing and use that time to create experiments and find out what WORX4ME! Mind you I will be eating a very low fat diet still and keeping my protein up. I will be eating healthy still no junk!

I'm inclined to agree with TsiTalon, trying to follow programs through guesswork are usually doomed to fail.

Just my thoughts, Jock

I think I am hitting a brick wall. I have plateaued recently and trying to bust through that. I must not be doing something right because I got into my size 10 pants and I could before BUT i am not seeing results in fat loss. I have gone from 1900 calories to 1650 calories and have not seen what I want to see. So hince is where the experimentation comes in. I have to see what I am doing wrong to fix it. I have eaten the same thing everyday for a month now. Its time to change. Also I lost 60 pounds by just eating healthier! I did not count calories when I was loosing weight I just watched what I ate. If I start to gain wieght or notice muscle changes I will definatly jump back on the wagon. I dont think Tsi really understands what im mean by balancing my diet. Tsi you said the other night you were going to have peanut butter on bread and remember i said that was a cheat for me. Because my diet consist of precise measurements of food. The largest amount of peanut butter im allowed is 2 tblspoons. I have EXACTLY 150 grams of protein - 140 carbs - 40 fat! I split that up into 6 precisly measured meals! I can not just jump up and say I feel like an apple because it would add calories and carbs to my 1650 plan. thats what I am burned out on. I want to be able to have some cottage cheese if I just feel like it all of a sudden.

well my diet is toally different from yours. Im putting weight on now so i count to make sure that i get enough calories. You said it yourself that when you eat certain things you lost 60 pounds. Well say for example you listened to me and counting them calories and it totaled out to be 1,500 c for the day guess what now you know what calorie level will help you lose weight. Then day by day you plan out your meals and make a sheet so that you reach that but nothing more, then the pounds will shred right off you. Then on top of that you do cardio and guess what ? problem solved ! We dont need to argue about it. like i said before numbers dont lie, their 100% fact listen to them and work with them. Then with that info you are def on your way to complete your goal. Just then again just my 2 cents

Well I certainly didnt think we were arguing and if it was taken that way then please except my apology. Well 1500 calories will make me loose fat and weight BUT I will loose muscle in the process. 1500 calories is not near enough for me to keep lean muscle mass and my metabolism the way it needs to be. So I am in search of the perfect calorie and macronutient balance to help me loose bodyfat and keep or possibly build new lean muscle.
Amk

oh and while I in search of this I will be taking a break from racking my brain everyday over what I eat.
