I love oatmeal plain but I have put Blueberries in it in the past. They are a healthy source of carbs and Fiber and add a great taste to it.
Also as Mustang said - Protein powder is a great thing to mix with oatmeal =)
If you dont like the taste of oatmeal you could also try oatbran. it is similar in nutritonal values (Little less carbs and more protein) and has a very different taste.

That's what I do, mix the oatmeal with cottage cheese or yogurt, sometimes with protein powder.
I also get scottish or irish oats which take longer to cook but have a chewy (not mushy) consistency, and that texture adds to the enjoyment.
I like it plain, not a fan of those instant oatmeals or any flavored oatmeals. I like the basics with lots of texture...I can add my own flavors.

MY breakfast 2-3 times a week consist of 1 cup of oat, 1 cup of skim milk and a 1/2 of water mixed in and microwaved to perfection. the milk sweatens the oats a bit. This with 1 cup of OJ and 4-5 hard boiled egg whites.

Huh, this must really depend on brand and flavor of the protein powder. My brother suggested this to me recently as he found it to be tasty, so I tried it this morning for breakfast. Yuck! I could hardly finish it. Maybe chocolate or strawberry protein powder would be better (I use Designer Whey french vanilla).
I have found raisins and ground cinnamon to be a good, tasty additive, though. ~Steve

We can have Oatmeal has much as we want to.
On cut or on bulking cycle.
But the problem is that we shouldn't use the
instant, quick, large flakes, oatmeal.
These are higher on the GI and the become sugar faster in our system.
Because they are more processed.
The only good oatmeal while on cut or bulking it the Steel cut oat, and oldfashion rolled oats. These 2 are almost not processed and have a very low GI.

When I eat stuff that isn't... well, that tasty, I try to tell myself that I'm not trying to satisfy my taste buds, I'm trying to feed my body. \
Works for me... most of the time. No one is perfect.

What I do sometimes I just use plain oatmeal and put a whey shake in the oatmeal before cooking it. Then put it in the microwave. It comes out totally different. It's more fluffy

I tried some chocolate whey in my oatmeal a few weeks back and it was nasty! However, oatmeal in my chocolate whey is quite good for some reason.

I'll buy the Crystal Light [or Sugar Free Koolaid] powders and sprinkle a bit of that on top of my oatmeal. The strawberry & banana kind is delicious.

Do'nt skip those yolks. That's the best part of the egg.

I disagree. 1 yolk has all the cholesterol that your body needs in a day. They're also loaded with fat.
