Pizza...
...can be good, no? I dont eat pizza that often although my family does get it often. I am wondering though how good or bad it can be. For example the pizza I am going to have abit of is from Panago Pizza (not that anyone knows what that is) thin crust, cheese, mushrooms, and onions. Hows that one? I just worry that theres so much fat in the cheese and everything that it might not be good with whatever you have on it. Any suggestions, or maybe a place where i can find the health info on a pizza like this? Thanks.
Also, if that ones not good, what kind of pizza can be good, if any. And how much can/should I eat?

I had a Tony's whole wheat crust frozen Pizza a couple weeks ago. Compared to other pizzas, the nutritional value seemed pretty good. Still a lot of fat in that cheese, though.

If you can get the low fat cheese and a whole wheat crust, it can be pretty healthy.
I don't eat pizza while bulking because I have to keep my fat so low to be able to eat enough. While cutting though, I get deep dish pizza and toss the crust - high fat, low carb cuts are so much fun.

Just had all you can eat pizza and pasta there yesterday. Them post cheese sweats are not pleasant
They are ok in moderation there is a lot of simple carbs and bad fats which is not ideal. I would not make it a main stay in any way.

Last night I just had the most amazing pizza... homemade of course! I used whole wheat bread flour, fresh buffalo mozzarella, spicy italian chicken sausage, red onions, and green and red peppers... it was AMAZING!!! The buffalo (sp?) mozzarella made all the difference. It's very flavorful and not horribly fattening.

A good option is simply to skip the cheese altogether. We load the pizza with veggies - no cheese - and enjoy it immensely. We prefer pizza that is baked in a (very hot) wood-fired stone oven. It's all what you get used to.

I know... I see how one can get used to eating it without cheese, but I actually think that it is beneficial to have a little so that the fat slows down the digestion..

i wouldn't eat it regularly, but once a week or every couple weeks it can't hurt, moderation is key. my buddies and i usually go out once a week and ill eat a bar style buffalo chicken pizza and a greek salad. mmmm havent had it in a few weeks though, actually longer than that

The problem is that all this saturated fat adds up over the years - and what most Americans think is moderation - is anything but that.

You mean your body never metabolizes saturated fat?

I've had pizza made with that super low fat cheese before. Wasn't great, but it was edible. Whole wheat crust is actually pretty good. All fruit and veggie toppings are good. Could have some lean meat toppings, buffalo-style chicken breast for a topping. I think that you could use some creativity and come up with a great pizza recipe.
