Question about Pre And Post Workout Meals

Hey everyone! I have several questions about what I should be eating pree and post workout. Here was an idea that I had for a pre-workout shake:

Whey protein powder
½ cup of oats
A piece of fruit (banana, blueberries, strawberries, etc)
Scoop of cottage cheese

I was planning on going with that but I read that since liquid can be digested quicker it is better than food for a post workout meal. Since I workout before meal 1 and 2 if I had a shake for post workout also that would be two meals in a row without any actualy food. Would it be better to have a shake pre or post workout? If post what should be in it and what should I have for breakfast? If pre what should I eat post workout instead? Im sorry for all the questions, Im just sort of confused. I tried searching for the answers but I got mixed resutls. Thanks alot!

-Matt

if you had to choose one, i would say is better to have it after workout. Thats is when your body needs most protein.

Also, for breakfast is important to eat a meal with good amount of protein. If meal dont got protein, just drink a protein shake in additional to your meal. This goes for workout days and non workout days. Reason for this is because your body is going for 8 hours without any nutrition at all.

This is fine for pre-workout as long as you have a hour or so before you workout. If you don't have that much time have an apple and a large glass of milk pre-workout.

That would be a great post-workout shake if you leave the oat out. You want that shake to digest fast. Then about an hour after the shake eat oatmeal or something with lots of complex carbs.

Thanks LAdy C, I think I'll use this as my post workout shake (minus the oats) and just have somthing quick before, like you mentioned. An apple and milk sounds good to me
