Supplements forum vs. Nutrition forum

I was just thinking how ironic my forum tastes have changed in the past year. When I first found this board I spent most of my time in the "Supplements" forum. I was only a newbie to bodybuilding and I was only interested in finding out which supplements were going to make me huge.

Now, over a year later, I very rarely go into the supps forum, and spend most of my time in the Diet & Nutrition forum. I think I've become more educated to the world of fitness, and realized that the best source of nutrients for your body comes from food, not supplements. Funny how things change!

WOW since you said that....i have realized that i have done the same. The only supps i use are whey and creatine, but before i was checking out all kinds of other stupid supps that would ahve been a waste of money. I have learned to just concentrate more on the food and let the muscles show what the weights have been doing. Another thing is i was so worried about how much weight i was lifting, WO routine, reps, sets, blah. Now i just concentrate more on food.

Yep, food is the number one anabolic primer to enable the body to grow! No food = no growth. Supplements can help for sure, but without wholesome and sound nutrition in general, you won't gain a pound of lean muscle.

All the workouts in the world won't equate to anything without proper food intake, macronutrient breakdowns, and timing of consumption. I too over the years have learned just how important food is when it comes to achieving your physique goals.

very true. I never got into the supps all that much but I did think working out enough would burn off 4 donuts a day heh...I've learned alot since then.
