want to bulk again, but would like some advice.

I am planning on bulking a second time, using the almost the same diet but upping the calories a bit.

Im 5'11 and when i started my first cycle , I was 145 with very low bf % (very fast metabolism) I bulked to 155 and then cut to 150.

Well now id like to bulk again but since im bigger and I have an increased activity level, im a little unsure how much to raise the calories from the previous bulking diet i had.

first time around I was eating 2500 cals a day, five 500 cal meals every 3 hours. i was using a 3 day split(just weights) - this worked pretty good for me

The ratio I aimed for was 45/35/20

Now im 150 and would eventually like to reach 170 in a year and half.

I'm doing a 3-day split with weights and 3 days of HIIT cardio(20 mins, high intensity) with the last day being my rest day.

Being 5 lbs heavier and having 3 more sessions of HIIT a week - I was thinking of maybe starting my diet at to 2800 instead of the old 2500 , what do you guys think?

I want to keep fat gain to a minimal so im skeptical about adding too many cals.

I know everybodies metabolism is different but im just wondering if this sounds reasonable, judging by my weight/height/activity level.

sounds moderate enough, but why not start with the 2500, see if that does anything in a couple weeks and only then bump it up to 2800 if you need to? if it's enough to gain lean mass, you'll avoid gaining unnecessary fat by not jumping straight up to 2800.

I actually have tried it and the results were very negligible if anything at all.

I'm not sure if if it was the HIIT cardio but 2500 almost seems to be maintenence for me now.

Drop the cardio to a brisk 20-minute walk twice a week and eat 2,800-3,000 calories a day. Give it a week or so, then adjust the cardio/cals.

Well I dont want the drop the cardio for 3 reasons

1. HIIT cardio is a good fat burner and protects muscle, therefore making it useful on a bulking diet cuz it doesnt burn as much calories as say....and long distance run, yet still have very good fat burning effects.

2. I am going to start up some combat martial arts and they are extremely intensive(mostly burst movements) so I've been doing HIIT to get used to their way of training

3. The cardio seems to make me more effective in the weightroom as I dont have to rest as much between sets, also , it used to be if i worked out too fast - id start to fill sick/out of breath but not anymore since ive been running more.

thanks for ur advice though.

why set your goals so low? 20 pounds in a year and a half? I gained 10 pounds in the last 4 weeks.

2500 calories? My daily maintenence level is more than 50% more than that.

Stop eating like a dieting teenage girl.

Lots of protein, lost of carbs early in the day PWO and PPWO, and fats and veggies later in the day.

Cardio 2-3 times a week.

Train hard and heavy.

don't forget your natural peanut butter, and don't measure it out, just splatter that stuff on some wheat bread or just spoon it out of the jar, that **** is great and it surley won't make you blubberly and giggle.

a teenage girl ? heh . 10 pounds in 4 weeks? please.

There is noway you gained that much MUSCLE in 4 weeks unless you are roiding. Bet you 20 bucks that you gained mostly fat.

if you are gaining more then half a pound a week then you are way overdoing it buddy.

so you can call me a teenager girl but at the end, im gonna be the one who is cut and not looking like a sumo wrestler.

p.s. if your gonna post some stupid crap like that, then dont post in my thread at all, thanks.
