Current Pics (Discuss Fitness Experiment)
Ok guys here's my situation. I am 22 years old 5' 9" and weigh in at 187 lbs. In the last year I have gained about 30lbs mainly do to horrible eating habits, and lack of excersise(my work day consists of sitting and being in front of a computer most of the day). I have basically eaten what I wan't and then some. Everyday is different sometimes I don't eat my first meal until 12:00pm and I usually arise at 6:00 am !!!
Well the past month or so I have been researching different excersise, techniques, routines, diets, etc etc. My goal was to start at least excersising and a decent diet by today. The first Monday of the year. I am posting my pictures of my fatass that I took last week. I will keep this thread updated when I take new ones.
I am calling this the Discuss Fitness Experiment because, these webforums have really opened my eyes. Not just the info here but the links articles etc etc that have been mentioned here.
I have decided to go with the Max-OT weight lifting routine. For cardio I will be doing HIIT training on a fitness flyer 3-4 times a week.

New Pictures taken on Sunday February 15 2004. I have been lifting weights for 5 weeks doing the MAx-OT routine. I know IM still not going full 100% intensity every single rep every single set every single muscle part, but I am slowly gaining. Ihave been eating sensibly and not eating like a freaking pig. I have however broken my diet on about 4 of the last 5 weekends so I gotta work on that. I ahven't broken it badly it's mainly one night out of each weekend I go out have a few drinks then eat stupidly on the way home. Im working on it. I am introducing cardio for the first time this week and also I am no calorie counting my macronutrient breakdown. I will using Lee JBs calculator for my values.
Excuse the burn on my arm. I should've photoshopped it a bit. I will be getting it removed via surgery some day.
A funny pose nothing serious.
I am now going hardcor diet and excercise. So I shall be cut by the end of march. (crosses fingers)

Well I'm not a complete newbie to weight training I lifted on and off for about 4 years . Then I stopped for about 2-3 now IM back. And seriously if you have no real logical reason to stay away from max ot then I would advise not to give such advise for the sake of the newbies. Max-OT is not some crazy intense super isolation work-out. It gives a good base for understanding muscle hypertrophy. I remeber when I was a newbie everything I did in the gym was based on hear-say and on those dam bodybuoilding books. Talk about over-traning, un motivating after a while. I was in the gym about 2 hours back then now im in it for 45 minutes makes life much easier

Your doing pretty DAMN good, experiment that's very impressive. If your going to add some cardio in, that will make your calorie burn quite a bit higher each week - so add another 100cals to your daily intake if your using my sheet ... Most people get where they want with that calculator so I hope it helps you.
Good Luck.

Keep in mind that the Max-OT program includes dietary recommendations. What's you're current scale weight? It looks like you lost a few pounds there! :

So u'r not a newbie, my advice doesnt apply.
Reason was I think Max-OT recommends heavy weights in the 5 rep range. For someone just starting out that puts a lot of strain on the tendons. Combine that with the faster growth of muscles compared to tendons and u'r got trouble.
Also heavy weights=bad form for newbies generally.
