I really want to be ripped.....

OK..this picture is from yesterday. 31/5'10.5'/170lbs/17%BF (according to my Tanita) I was 190lbs/20%BF about 6 months ago and got to where Iam doing a Keto stlye diet and half assed cardio. Cardio is now up to par at 30-45 mins 6 days a week for the last week. My goal is to get into the single digit BF%. I do not need to be huge, I just want to be hard and ripped for the summer. Weights are obviously the next addition to the workout. If I "flex" I can kinda see the first two sets of abs...which is great for me since I have never seen them since I was a teenager, ironically I competed as a powerlifter from ages 14-16, so Iam no stranger to weights. What do you guys think? I need a serious weight regimen to get me to my goals.

Hey bud! Well, since you are no stranger to weights, then your body should react quickly to the reintroduction of weights to your fitness regimen. I would definitely map out a weight lifting program which includes basic movements for all muscle groups, so you can build upon your foundation and then when you do get your body fat even lower, you will have even more to admire and be proud of. Weights, cardio and clean eating, along with rest will get you to where you want to be!

I would hit the weights asap so you can maintain the muscle you do have, when you are cutting. This is important!

Your welcome! Just be consistent with everything and give it all due time for your body to respond and build upon itself. Getting ripped or building up more muscle takes time, persistence, some thought and then tons of effort. If you do all that tho, you WILL accomplish amazing things! :

keep up the good work.. i would say to add some mass right now.. when i first started i was like you and i only wanted to get ripped.. but i became so light that the only comments i got were "whoa, you got so skinny".. (i went from about 185lbs @ 20+% bf to about 160lbs ~15%bf? 5'10")

so i decided to bulk up and got back to about 185/190lbs @ 15%bf and everyone said i was huge (but in a good way)

now i'm trying to lean out again but this time i actually have some muscle mass so the definition is coming out with muscles.. definitely looks ALOT better.

moral of the story... you've gotten leaner than you were before, but now you should add some mass. :

Its all a matter of personal goals, but I would also probably bulk up if I were you in. In any case, listen to Todd and the others around here, they know their stuff!
