My Story

I'm new to lifting, health stuff, and the forums kind of. I've been reading the forums for about 3 weeks. All my life, I've just been a skinny kid who runs Cross-Country. I started rugby last year and enjoyed it, but my size isn't all that good for rugby. I broke my collar bone after a 200+ UNT prop blind-sided me after I left a ruck. So I knew I had to get bigger sooner or later if I wanted to play. ANYways, I started lifting about 2 weeks ago, after my girlfried broke up with me for no reason. I was depressed and all that good stuff that goes with a break-up, and decided to go lifting to get bigger and see if chicks would come to me.. I noticed that lifting was a great stress reliever, and got hooked. In 2 weeks I've seen a HUGE difference. I guess you could say.. my lifes changed, and everyone in the forums has helped. This was the first lifting forum I saw, and the most helpful. Without everyones input and help, I would not know what I was doing and wouldn't be like this. So I just want to say thanks to everyone whos helped in this site.

I got pics.. I guess you could call them before and after pics..

AGain.. thanks a lot everyone.

I'm wondering if it's just the way he's standing in the first picture that makes the second picture look so much different. Also, don't forget newbie gains .

Jarrod - congratulations on your lifted spirits as well as the gains you've made. Keep on truckin and you'll be huge in no time .

Hey man nice work, gained some real nice mass there. I know what it's like to get beaten up by big, ugly forwards when playing rugby too man Just do what I do, poke them in the eye, then kick them on the shin and run away (Us scrum-halves will do anything to get ahead!)

No.. I swear I'm not ****ing w/ yall. I'd have to agree though, the "Before" pic isn't all that good. I've been taking nothing except loading up on protein and ZMA and 2 flintstones vitamens... and ovaltine.

Big ugly forwards... You don't know what ugly is untill you've seen the forwards I play with. And they smell to. I played 8 man one game and I hated sticking my head in there...

Thought I would firstly say congrats. Get yourself
a training buddy. Make sure that you are eating properly small portions are great and eat often, careful with sups as they will do more harm than good. Lots and lots of water when training it
is important for your overall health. Another thing is to train in a well vented area and have lots of room to move around and place your equipment. Dress properly and wear proper fitting shoes, this is mandatory for safety reasons. Get some instruction and remember that swimming, running, biking are all part of the entire picture. It will take time just keep at it. A training buddy will keep you motivated.
Remember that your local gym or Y can give you pointers and your school might let you use the equipment without charge. Remember that you have to develop a program and work all your muscles if you want a complete balanced body. Huge arms aren't going to useful to you if your chosen sport is football. Take care and remember you learned to crawl before you could walk so keep that in mind. Keep us posted on your progress and the very best of luck.

Perhaps I am the only person who will call ball****. Why didn't you include your face in the second picture man? If both pics are really you, then mad props. But forgive me if I am a little skeptical considering you said 2 weeks and didn't post your face.

HA.. I figured someone would say this.. Thats my awesome picture taking skills. I could never get the camera to get my face in. But its easy to tell thats me. The moles under the left armpit. The one under my bellybutton is easily visable in the before.. and slightly noticable in the after cause my hands kinda in the way. My left collarbone was broken and can easily see that in both pictures. The mole around my neck... Come on.. At least look at the pictures a little closer before you start to acuse someone of being a fake. All this made me do is notice that i have quite a collection of moles. If you don't believe me.. Ill take another picture with my face..

Guys, I totally believe this... back before I had a large amount of mass, I could do the same thing. I looked VERY unimpressive when relaxed. Quite similar to the way he looks. I looked to not have much definition in my arms and abs, but as soon as I flexed, my arms looked extremely cut and expanded out quite a bit. They looked big from the front, but were actually very flat if you saw them from the sides.

As I have developed, my muscles look more impressive unflexed, and there is not NEARLY the difference between flexed and unflexed. about 3 or 4 years ago, I could have posted very similar pictures to these of myself.
