Hey man, what's up?

First off, realize that everyone has to start somewhere....and that goes for all of us, so no need to be embarassed or anything like that. Hey, I was a little toothpick...a 5'11" bean pole with just basically skin and bones...at least you have some meat on ya to begin with.

The best thing to do is post your pics, like you've done, because now you can take an honest look at everything with your physique and begin setting goals. Plus, once you've progressed, you will have these to look back on and realize just how far you've come! It's a great motivator both for now, and in the future.

Work on lifting with the basic exercises for each muscle group. Squats, dead lifts, incline and flat bench presses, barbell and dumbell curls, bent-rows, pull-ups, shoulder presses, laterals, standing and seated calf raises, lying tricep extensions, cable pushdowns, barbell/dumbell shrugs, etc....use mostly compound movements to get your core foundation built up.

Learn how to eat clean every 2-3 hours and to take in quality protein at each meal, along with the right type of carbs for each meal depending on your activity level throughout the day. Get your post workout nutrition intake down pat and learn how to drink upwards of a gallon of water per day. Get 8 hours sleep each night, and then begin listening to your body.

All of the above tips should help you get out on the right path....and whatever else you may want to know, just ask here at DF.

Good luck, and stay motivated!

first update

Well, here's my first update on these photos, I wouldnt say everything is going quite to plan, not losing the fat quite as quick as i'd maybe hoped, but i'll stick with it, it's got to come off somehow.

My posture sucks doesnt it

My fat levels do appear to be going down, from measurement, even though my weight is going down slowly, and i think i'm starting to look better which is motivation for me even if no one else can see it

Good work so far. Keep it going. I was way worse at my starting point. Good that you are getting going on a training program now than waiting until later on when it would just be harder.

And that posture will improve as your back and abs get stronger. I used to be really sway backed with shoulders hunched over all the time when I was really fat. Now I stand straight.
