New to Forum--My progress journal photos

Hi,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I've looked around at all the discussions and decided this might be a good place to say hello. I'll just post a link to my own fitness page. It explains a bit about myself and my goals. It's a sort-of journal documenting my progress so far starting last summer as a seriously overweight 51 year old male with multiple health problems to my current status and ongoing progress. For more info about me, follow the link at the bottom of the journal page back to my home page.

My Trikes and Fitness web page

If you are over 50 and are on a similar journey back to good health and fitness, I'd like to hear from you!

Your progress looks great. Congratulations!

(I'm not quite 50 yet and my journey is different.)

That old man?

YES!

I'm actually just 3 months older than Cursor, having been born in August, 1952.

I found our Moderator's photos early on in my first browsings of this forum. I had to show them to my wife and ask if she thought I could look like that. She's also been doing the same workouts and cardio training right along beside me, but won't allow any photos posted as she has a much longer journey to make to reach her goal and isn't quite there yet. I've been documenting her progress right along with mine and maybe someday she'll let the photos be shown.

Welcome to DiscussFitness.com, Jim. It sure looks like you've come a long way! Best of luck to both you and your wife in these coming months/years.

Cool trike, by the way. :

Thanks to everyone for their encouraging words.

I intend to post an update to my fitness journal every month. Perhaps my wife will relent and allow me to post her progress photos later when she gets closer to her goals. She is fighting a much harder battle, having been seriously overweight since childhood (now 49.) She's also made tremendous progress with her weight loss and fitness gains, but is struggling to get another 40 pounds off.

New update photos

Here's my latest (today's) progress photos:

http://www.yellowjacketsystems.com/t...de-3-04-05.jpg

http://www.yellowjacketsystems.com/t...ms-3-04-05.jpg

My weight is only down 2 pounds (now 212 lb) since the end of January, but my waist measurement is down an inch and I think there's some upper body development starting to become apparent. I can actually see an inverted V shape on my stomach and the beginnings of an outline of my obliques. My bodyfat percentage (15-16%) is still way to high to actually see my abs, but I can feel 'em under there!

I haven't updated my webpage yet, but will do so later this weekend and provide some information about the last month's workouts.
