Rich's 'Getting near end of cutting' phase

Hey all

Just decided on some progress pics. Unfortunately they're not the best, as the oldest 'before' pics I have are actually from the end of October. I have been cutting since mid-August so by October I'd already lost quite a bit of bodyfat. Still, it's been 1.5 months since I took my before pics, so I took some more last night to see if I'd made any further progress.

Even though there's not a massive difference, I have lost a few more pounds of fat. I think the most prominent fat loss areas are my stomach and chest. In the 'before' side picture, I was really sucking in my gut for some reason!! Also my chest looked a lot more 'conical' than it does now. The after side picture is just me standing normally without flexing - a marked improvement I think.

The two front pictures are also an improvement. I still have a little fat on my chest + abs I need to lose, but I'm planning on going back to bulking for a few months at the start of the New Year to add some quality LBM. Oh and I also need a tan - damn British weather

(And in case anyone is wondering, there's no back shot because I didn't take one 'before' for some strange reason).

So, before pics are me at 166lb, and after pics are me at 154lb. And I'm 6ft1 which is why I look soooo very thin at the minute!

hey Rich, dont take this the wrong way champ, its just my opinion from the pics that i can see....if i was you i would forget cutting, from my observations it looks as though you've lost some quite noticable lean mass whilst losing the fat. At 154lbs and 6'1 i see no reason to cut up, im around the 6' and about 183lbs and i am complaining how small i feel, if i dropped another 5lbs i would be pissed as about it...in saying all this however, im not sure on what your goals are and if you are achieving the look/health/fitness you are after then i say "well done!" from what i've experienced its easy to lose weight when you are lighter and harder when your heavier (it was hard when i was bigger, now i struggle to hold), just be careful about the lean mass loss.

Hi Jay, thanks for the comments!

I'm planning to start bulking on New Year's Day - I totally agree with what you say. I started cutting back in August as my BF% had gone back over 20% again and I was feeling really bad about it. Most of the fat loss occurred before the end of October (which is when my 'before' pics were taken). In hindsight I should have really stopped there and then, and started maintenence then bulking about 2 months ago.

Not all wasted time though, I have lost some more fat since October and I'm quite happy with the way I look at the moment. Starting Jan 1st I'll be slowly upping my calories to add some good LBM back onto my frame and keep on doing that for 3-4 months!

The before pics look better...just an observation, you may want to bulk more before you start cutting.

Yal, it looks like you have lost weight. The before pic looks better. You look good either way though.

Back on this site for the first time in months! Will have to get some update pics done. Long story short I went a bit off the rails just after Christmas, and watched my BF% go up to around 18%. After 6 weeks of hard training though it's back to 14%, plus I've added (or re-gained, depending on how you look at it) 12lb of muscle.

OK new pics attached

Apologies for the crappy quality - I couldn't get any sort of decent lighting and only have a webcam at the minute so getting decent pics is kind of difficult.

Anyway, progress pics are after about 6 weeks training and I'm currently still bulking.
