Update Workaholics

With my new routine I went from 137 to 140 . I intended to lose 5 lbs instead I gained..... I have to lose 8 lbs within 1 month for my upcoming amateur boxing match. To my suprise my overall strength has inreased incredibly. My bench from 225 is 275 now. I need suggestions on a new routine, and what needs to be improved.

Why don't you move up a weight class? It seems that you are depriving your body of muscle in the sense that it looks like you could easily fill in your chest more and get increased mass in upper body in general.

Just wondering, do you use any supps?

In amateur they sometimes allowed allot of weight difference so I had a few fights where I was fighting 140-147 lbs weight class. I lost in split disicions cause I faught to defensivly or passive. My point is at higher weight class those guys are tall, generally 5'10+ at the 147 lbs weight class. Remember they're coming down from 160 lbs. The body is deprived of water and food for a period enabling them to drop quite easilly. So if I was walking around at 138 I can drop 132. So if I can get my weight to 132 I can drop 126.

Once and awhile I take centrum vitamins when I feel abit burnt out from training, but I doubt that counts as supplements. Other than that I dont take anything. I eat allot of rice, seafoods such as fish, salmon halibut. Should I start taking whey and cutting back on carbs such as rice??

When I faught at 126 I won BC golden gloves and Silver gloves 1999  *thats my only motivation to get back down LOL*

Not at all, get your bf tested and monitor it. Eat the way you do while training and see if it goes up or down, if it goes up, then yes. If not, just keep eating normally. Some people can be gifted with the metabolisms, you may be a gifted one. Many people have told me to get my diet together to lose weight, yet i havn't even thought about a diet in the longest time and I'm losing bf constantly. The only thing i try to stay away from is junk food, everything else is fair game.

yo i ahve to say good work. you got some ripped muscles there. you weight 140 and can bench 275 thats awesome, especially without supplements. its very encouraging to see that someone can have those kinda results without taking anything. what i find more encouraging for you is that it looks like you could still gain a good amonut of mass around your chest area. your muscles must be very dense. that obiously is a good thing. keep up the good work.

wow, benching 275 at 140 lbs is incredible...good job.

I doubt you can really lose 8 lbs in one month. You don't look like you have 8 lbs of fat that you can lose on you, so you'd have to lose some muscle, which would decrease your strength.

There's about a pound or so of fat on my butt. hmm prolly 4 lbs of food + waste if my system is clean for 36 hours. Dehydrate muscles; perhaps 3 more lbs. So in theory I think I can cut 8 lbs. Whats your opinion???

yea u can easy lose 8 lbs...water weights the most so take advantage of that but dont deprive urself of water for too long cuz the body automaticlly slows down its metabalism

I was born in Vietnam so I assume I'm Vietnamese. I think I developed my strength thru my teen years in karate. It took me 6 months to get from 185-225 bench a year ago, then recently 225-275 in roughly 2 months. Its all about determination and thinking you can lift a weight which would probably be too heavy haha. I've failed lifts 98% of my trials... I think we asians are just shorter so it looks like were strong but in fact its leverage right? shorter arms shorter legs = less distance....
