About me

I thought I have made one post so I might as well tell you about myself.Well im called Mark though people tend to call me marcus (very odd) and like I have said already I am over weight due to what my life style has been like for a few year.I have let myself go because I have been a bit down and this year has seen my Gran and 2 of my close friends pass away.It was upseting and I saw the only way out through drink.I would spend every day in the pub if I could and it did take its toll.
After being given the lesson on the evils of alchol of a friend and after stepping on the scales a few month ago I decided that it was time to do something about my health. So I started with just simple walking.I was doing around 6 miles a day and it just got boreing and I stopped that gradually and with still drinking and eating junk food it wasnt doing much good.

But I am now prepared to leave that behind, get into shape and this I say starts tommorow because it is my first job in the morning to go and join the local gym.So if you have any advice for me me it would be more than welcome.

Read my post to your other thread.

My only other advice is don't wait until tomorrow, do it RIGHT NOW. It doesn't have to be much.

Welcome aboard. You'll get alot of encouragement here and words of wisdom. Be patient and don't quit before the miracle happens.

Just make sure you get some help for your alcohol problems along with starting the exercise program. Its hard to do it alone. Its better when you have a support mechanism to help out. This board is a good place. There are some really good people here with good advice on fitness and other issues.

I used to drink to solve problems and it led me to a DWI and tons of relationship issues. I had to go to a mandatory AA meeting last year and really learned alot from it. I have been sober since Sept of last year and just recently got my license back and got married. Lifting weights and running have been a great help. Its nice to finally be fit in mind and body.

And like pierini said...start today. Good luck.

Thank you bothg for your encourageing comments.Just in reply about my drinking.
Right now as you could say im recovering from the past 3 years and my health is getting better.

I know I am over all I have been through and my life is better now because of that.I have had such encouragement from people I know at church and in the fmaily about my drinking and I limit myself to only a couple of largers a week now if any.so I am doing well.

Mate. Im only 18 and i sorta know where you are coming from. I tried out a few drugs at age 16 and became hooked. I went through psychosis and three episodes one of which I attempted suicide. Anyway I went to rehab courses and I changed my life round but i wouldnt have done it without a mate! Get a buddy and join together its a great way to keep motivated and strengthen a friendship.

Good Luck man.
