DVD recommendations?
I would have said VHS but ....ours went kapootie, and all we have is the DVD player.
Does anyone have any favorite videos/DVD's they like, similar to Pumping Iron?
I'm not looking, necessarily, for instructional types of videos. Too many of those out there (ie: collage) are slow paced academic tapes.
When I watched Pumping Iron, I'd get stoked. That's what I'm looking for.....to pick up some ideas of perhaps new lifting techniques, lots of muscle, etc.
I mean, I got stoked watching G.I. Jane (but I couldn't help it,....seeing Demi all sweaty hanging from her feet, or doing push ups,....from behind!.....whoooo!).....
....so any movies you guys know of that are inspiring along those lines, OR likewise, any more informative videos (DVD's) along the lines of Pumping Iron?

Shoot ... don't know of any, Merrida. I'll keep my eyes open though. Clarence Bass is doing a second video, but I think that his are only available on VHS. I'm going to hit him up on the possibility of making them available on DVD.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. This whole VHS thing is a bummer, a bummer I don't get. Supposedly they're phasing them out, right? Yet, there's so many things ONLY available on VHS. Paradoxical progression of technology, eh?
I get stoked watching flicks that have power, action, muscle, fitness, buff chicks especially....and when I manage to watch the fitness competitions, it's amazing how I'll suddenly jones for a workout and get into this zone where I have to kick my own butt with super hard workouts.
But, it fades. Not entirely, but I find it interesting that I can experience that degree of motivation after seeing something on TV like that.
I don't like any of the typical chic flick things so I tend to watch more guy things...but finding things out there that really show women with muscle is hard.... so, guys with muscles,...high action movies involving martial arts or stunts,...those things can get me too. Like, watching Lara Croft...not exactly ripped, but very high action and cool, and that made it worth it. Now just get her a little more jacked and woohoo!
I remember watching the movie Aliens with my mom, and one of the women onboard named Rodriguez I think,...there was a scene of her doing pullups, with pumped arms and nice shoulders, and my mom turned to me (mind you she hadn't said much to me in the whole movie up to this point) and she says: Hmm, now she looks like a girl YOU would like! (Kinda like that whole Linda Hamilton thing from T2)....
Actually, the only "chic" thing that I've liked was belly dancing....(by that I mean, I won't exercise to Jane Fonda, and I don't get motivated by aerobics classes or watching skinny girls doing cheerleading,...I like things with more bite to it).
I'll be keeping my eyes open.

Many "Only on VHS" things are being moved to DVD, but the problem is demand. There are alot of old movies that arent on DVD simply because there is no demand for them. Pumping iron is just now being re-released on DVD (With the new commentary) =)

Here's some movie trivia that you'll love, Merridia. The character in Aliens was called Vasquez, and you're right.. she was ripped and lookin good in that movie. The actress's name is Jenette Goldstein, and I just love watching her run around with that big hip-mounted heavy machine gun. But, a little known fact.... she also played John Connor's stepmom (the redhead who took a blade thru the neck) in T2!

That's the lat flex scene on the balcony in Return of the Dragon, that I was babbling about in the Movies thread under the General Chit Chat forum. Who knew Bruce Lee was half frog?
