Feedback on my cardio workout?

I use the treadmill to walk and run. I use intervals. I burn about 100 calories per 15 mins. I do this for 60 min. thus 400 calories. I dont run more than 2-3 mins. for every 15 mins. I dont use incline coz I feel it hurts my knees...
What do you all think?
Oh and I forgot to mention I need to lose about 30 lbs.

Loosing weight has a lot to do with your diet. Is your diet in order?
How long have you been doing this cardio routine?
How much weight have you shed so far?

That's strange. Usually people use the elliptical machine b/c a treadmill bothers their knees, not vice versa. But anyway, as long as it gets your heart rate up, any type of cardio is good. Just be sure your diet is in order like previously stated.

Well, that what I thought. But now when I see people do the elelptical, I notice that some people posture causes their body wieght to put pressure on the inner knee. Infact, lately I have seen a lot of people who do elleptical have pain either in inner or outer knee.

Real world cardio is 10 times more effective than jumping up and down on a rubber band (aka treadmill). Get out and do some hiking, sprinting, bicycling, swimming. Its much more fun and effective.

I can understand wanting to be indoors then, still better off with sprints and plyometrics.

The amount of calories the machine is stating you burned is a very vague estimate.
