Figured It Out LOL

So, I have a Tanita scale that measures BF% and it always has read super high for me compared to caliper readings and the readings are wild and can fluctuate like crazy from day to day (19 one day to 25.5 the next) After doing some research online, I have come to the conclusion I am constantly/consistently dehydrated, which I've known for a while, and that this is why the readings are so high and fluctuate.

I'm working on getting more liquids but I don't get thirsty and I just don't think about it. I carry a water bottle with me at all times and still don't think to drink.

Anyway, guess I'm just posting to say that you need to be properly hydrated for the Tanita scales. I don't know if it's just a problem for me or if others on here struggle with getting enough to drink as well.

I'm interested to see what it will read after a week of proper hydration. I just have to DO a week of proper hydration first.

My experience with this scale is a higher morning (upon awakening) reading than a mid-afternoon reading.

Yeah, I think the reading is highest in the morning and lower at night. I really want to see what it says if/when I can keep myself hydrated.

Here's a quote that I love about hydration, "Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink. Drink when you're thirsty. Drink when you're not thirsty. And drink in between."

I've heard that and I know how important it is to drink. I just don't even think of it and I never get thirsty, which is a problem. I did get 8 cups of water yesterday, which was a record for me lately. Pathetic I know.

I used to also. what I did was buy a 64 oz. gatorade, and I use that as my water bottle, and I make a point to remember everytime I see somthing in particle I take a few gulps of water ex. My Manager, or Friend at work. and at the gym is a different story, I sip a few sips in between each set. I make it a point to go thru two bottles full of water a day.

I have water bottles that I carry with me. I can even have them sitting out and I just won't think of it.

I've had at least 5 cups of water for over a week now and the Tanita says my BF% is even higher. At least the scale on it is accurate or it would have been a TOTAL waste!!
