First Road Race!

Mwa! Yesterday I signed up for my first road race! It's 5 km, non-competitive, and all proceeds go to towards the local police force's Race and Ethnic Relations Committee.

I don't expect to come in anything but last place, but God knows I'm just doing this for fun. PLUS, brownie points on me because the race is being sponsored by the police force I want to get into. :

Good luck midgetcop. Just keep in mind it is all for fun and improving yourself. I remember my first race. Had quit smoking 6 months earlier and taken up running only 2 months before the race. I felt like I was going to die (my max run prior was only 2 miles) but making it accross the finish line was a great achievement for me at the time. Of course, I got beat by a 7 year old that day, but what the hey. lol It was all about having fun.

PS: Hi punkie. Welcome to the board!
