Fitness Nightmares

Ive just come back from a four day expedition, which entailed such activities as this.
Walk 23km a day up hills carrying a 100lbs rucksack. The rucksack was so heavy because it rained for four days none stop. The rain absorbed into my rucksack.
Walking along the boggiest land in the UK. Sinking to my waist.
Walking along streams and streams of rain, with my feet being wet for all 4 days
It was a great test of fitness. But was it worth it?
What are your fitness nightmares?

Sounds like basic training for the army. About the last week of the training we had a thing called FTX. It was 3 days long. But of course it rained all three days. March 9 miles(with a huge heavy rucksack) to the site and dig a damn hole so you can lay in it and then all the rain would puddle up and you would be in all the water. i maybe slept 5 mins the whole 3 days. In the morning got stung by a bee. The second night the Drill Sergeants were throwing CS grenades at ya. Had to put on my chemical gear so then i wasnt puking and drooling and eyes and nose watering. Then march back 9 miles. 5 people from my platoon got stress fractures on there ankles. Im leaveing all kinds of stuff out. It wasnt really a nightmare but it did suck.

Since returning, i have been suffering from pins and needles around my body. I think that because i was always damp and cold, i have now returned and am dry and warm. My skin probably isnt used to these conditions. This makes it even more of a nightmare.

OMG does that bring back some memories!!

Worst day ever>>>>> My T.O. knew I was sick as hell and he liked to challenge the weakest person in our group to either a pullup contest or a running contest. This day he did both. His challenge was if I could beat him at both pullups and a 3 mile run the rest of the group wouldn't have to do any PT that day. Needles to say he won and we ended up running an additional 3 miles in the rain at night, 100 pullups, 100 situps and 30 windsprints. I think I threw up 10 times in about 45 minutes.

HAHA damn......yeah there was always some bull**** that they pulled everyday. At the time it sucked!!!! I am def glad that i went through all of it though. Ill never forget those 9 weeks. A week ago I was going through a box and i saw a book that they made for us that showed all of us doing all kinds of stuff.....gas chamber, marchs, vitory tower and all that stuff. I looked through and saw the pics of my friends i met there and the DS's and i just couldnt help myself from laughing.
