Interesting.

I still think we have an activity vs. intake issue in america. Computer games have replaced outdoor activities for most children.

"Crete, with its Mediterranean diet, has one of the lowest incidences of heart disease, yet has a fat intake of 40 per cent, similar to the British level."

Funny how they don't' point out what kinds of fats though. They also say that being fat has to do with the fact that people aren't exercising, not what they're eating. Bull$%*&, a year ago for 2 years I was so damn active with working out, biking, horseback riding, and waitressing and I still managed to gain body fat! Why? Because I ate whatever the hell I wanted. Which was junk food and sweets. I think this article is going to give people the wrong idea...

You can be super active, yet if you're still taking in too many calories for what your body can positively make use of, then yes, you'll gain fat...and it doesn't matter if the foods you are eating are healthy or junk foods, it's the amount of calories taken in vs. amount of calories expended that is the culprit of fat gain, whether you exercise or not.

Excess calories consumed = fat. Our genetics determines where it will store.

Me too!

Although I know what it is a pic of, I don't think it is the best perspective (it doesn't do 28" justice)!

How can they say that obesity and overweight are not an epidemic and are not increasing? All you have to do is look around to see it. Also, they seem to only compare the extremes of being either anoerexic and obese. Maybe being overweight is better than being anoerexic, but isn't a healthy weight ideal?
