Fun run season

It's another fun run season for me.

Anybody else doing fun-runs this summer - 5k, 10k or whatever. How is your training going? Any breakthroughs or new training discoveries? Any goals you'd like to accomplish before the nice weather is over?

I'd still like to do a 5 K but I have to get my training impediment taken care of. The Running Room always knows where the 5ks are happening all through the year.

I've got one coming up on the 29th - 5k for Heritage Days in Columbia Falls, which is the town next door. I'm not doing any special training beyond my usual crazy blender of stuff, although I will most likely add in a couple 5k's on my own in between now and then. I would love to come in under 23:00.

I hate running...but hate not running worse. I will still suck at it though.

Ran in a 5k pump and run over the Fourth of July weekend. Did it just for fun given the fact that I had no time to train (i.e. I had not been to the gym since the end of May due to the fact that my second child was born at that time and also due to the fact that work was very busy).

With temperatures in the 80s and high humidity and as I was suffering from a massive head cold at the time of the race, the fact that I finished the race withouty passing out was a victory.

Thankfully, no more races until the Arnold 5k Pump and Run next March.
