'Gel' Insoles

I just saw some 'gel insoles' at a store. You put them in your shoes, and they promise 'increased stability'

I was wondering if anybody (preferably a runner) has tried these, and whether they helped in any way? They are pretty inexpensive.

Side note: I wear running shoes to correct my pronation.

How do running shoes correct foot pronation?
Are you flat footed?

they have a part on the inside of the heel. When I walk/run I have a tendency to lean inwards on my feet.
