Question

Good Posture

Could someone please tell me which exercises would be beneficial to improving my posture? My posture has always been pretty poor. I have always walked and sat somewhat slumped over. When I lay down flat on the floor or bed, my stomach "pouch" becomes much smaller and firmer. : When standing, my "pouch" is larger and I have a small "roll."

Any suggestions would be most appreciated........

There's an old joke about a guy who says “Hey Doc. It hurts when I do this”. To which the doctor replies “Then don't do that”.

You complain about your stomach making a large pouch because “I have always walked and sat somewhat slumped over”. To which I reply “Then walk tall and sit up straight!”

Seriously though. Posture is 24/7. You can't do posture exercises for 20 minutes and then ignore it the rest of the day. Put post it notes around your home and at work to remind yourself to walk tall and sit up straight.

Make sure you are working your back as hard as you work your chest. Also, work your lower back by doing supermen and extension.
