Hello everyone, i'm a new member


It's a nice forum you got here.

Anyways, if i go running for about 30 minutes. Come home and do situps and pressups will this be an effective way to lose weight and build up muscle.

if you want to build muscle then your going to need more then a few press ups. You need to get in the gym and start hitting the weights. Check out the journals section of the forum to see what kind of exercises you should be doing. If you get confused by anything use the search function of the site, if that fails then post a thred and i am sure someone will know the answers to your questions.

I suggest you go for a 3 day a week weight lifting work out and then spend an additional 3 days doing cardio workouts like running and cycling

So you are saying that it is ineffective to do cardio and weightlifting at the same time, or one after another?

they use two different types of energy. if you do cardio and then weights, you'll be too exhausted to give the weights the proper focus and intensity to be much use and vice versa.

split them up so you're doing them alternate days.
