Help with Mud Run Training.

Hello to all, first post here. I have recently signed up to compete in a military style Mud Run taking place on September 20th and am looking for some guidance with training. This gives me roughly 3 months to get ready for this thing. The run is a 4.2 mile long course that encompasses 30 obstacles ranging from giant mud hills, to swimming through mud pits, to crawling under wires. I will be competing as a team of 2.

I have never done any sort of competitive running aside from short distance sprinting and relays in high school. With that said, I do take my fitness pretty serious with weight training 5 times a week, mixing in cardio as well. I generally eat very healthy and can run a sub six minute mile as of today.

I am pretty much doing this to experience something new and it looks really fun! I would like to be highly competive in the race as well. Has anyone ever done one of these? What can I consider to be a "competitive" time? How far out should I begin in order to peak at the right time? Any training input would be much appreciated.

Orion you should increase running by 10% every 2 days and stop 7 days before the run.
But if you can already run the distance work on speed.
Also pulling a car tyre behind you on a rope will be like running with resistance like mud
