Hi, I'm new here

Hi everyone,

I'm new here. I'm 24 yrs old, 4'11 and 130 lbs. I need to lose 30 lbs and I just start exercise since Tuesday and plan to do it everyday. All my friends weigh around 95-100lbs and they are taller than me. I also do it for my health because I feel exhausted when walking from the school parking lot to my classes. That's unusal.

I just want to ask how long it would take to lose that much. And if the plan is doable. I walk at 3.3 on treadmill and sweat like crazy and the one next to me is running at 6.7.

Thanks,

Your goal is doable as long as you are willing to put forth the effort.

The first thing you should do is throw the scale in the trash and set your goal to become lower in bodyfat not lower in scale weight. Scale weight is very deceiving. Losing bodyfat you will become lean, mean and sexy. When I made my transition my scale weight has NEVER changed.

The second thing I would do is start weight lifting. Building more muscle will increase your metabolism. I would alternate days between weights and aerobics with one day off per week. Your diet should be the toughtest thing to modify but if you have made it through the first two weeks of the atkins you should be fine for a while.

Welcome to DF and Good Luck!
